# Overview

> Contacts is your customer and company list in Karzoun — filter, tag, import, merge, then build segments before campaigns.

**Contacts** is the list of people and companies in the workspace. Use it to search, filter, and update many records at once. Open a single [contact profile (Arabic)](/ar/help-center/guides/contacts/profile) when you need conversations, orders, and history.

<Info>
  **Canonical (Arabic):** [Contacts overview](/ar/help-center/guides/contacts/overview) · gold-standard module · [Marketer path](/ar/help-center/guides/contacts/path-marketer)
</Info>

## Customers vs companies

| Tab | Holds | Add from |
| - | - | - |
| **Customers** | **Customer** or **Lead** | **Add contact** |
| **Companies** | Company records | **Add company** on that tab — not from the person dialog |

Inside **Customers**, the **classification** filter switches All / Lead / Customer. Leads can use a pipeline board: [Leads (Arabic)](/ar/help-center/guides/contacts/leads).

## Before campaigns

1. [Import CSV (Arabic)](/ar/help-center/guides/contacts/import) — tag the batch so you can filter it without a segment.
2. [Merge duplicates (Arabic)](/ar/help-center/guides/contacts/merge) after store sync or a second import.
3. [Segments (Arabic)](/ar/help-center/guides/contacts/segments/overview) — published segments become campaign audiences.

Store sync (Salla / Zid) can create thousands of contacts at once. Turn off “new customer” automations first — see [Ecommerce journey (Arabic)](/ar/help-center/guides/use-cases/ecommerce).

## First marketing week

Do not broadcast the whole database on day one. Follow [Marketer week 1 (Arabic)](/ar/help-center/guides/use-cases/marketer-week-1).
