# automation

> **Canonical get-by-ns.** Fetch one [`Automation`](/api-reference/types/Automation) for a stable `ns`,
with `revision` selecting which document to open when draft and live share the same ns.

Request `nodes { … }` / `triggers { … }` on the selection set for a full editor
snapshot (field resolvers load the graph).

| Revision | Behavior |
|----------|----------|
| `LIVE` | live or offline only |
| `DRAFT` | existing draft, or **create** a draft clone from live/offline (create-or-return; never double-clones) |
| `AUTO` | live/offline first, else existing draft — never creates |
